Commentary: Deport or incarcerate illegals? We can’t afford it
The Obama administration’s decision to stop deporting illegal immigrants under 30 who entered the U.S. as children and meet certain other residency and education requirements for the next two years is a sensible step in the right direction. The policy shift also was a shrewd political move that has backed conservative Republicans into an uncomfortable corner. Some GOP leaders are looking to Sen. Marco Rubio for a “Hail Mary” political rescue of the Hispanic vote.
