State registering immigration consultants to fight predatory practices
Businesses found to be defrauding immigrants will now face fines.
Businesses providing immigration consulting services will be required to register with the state and face fines up to $5,000 for unscrupulous behavior, as Utah attempts to crack down on identify fraud and predatory practices that take advantage of immigrants and refugees.
