The immigrant population at heightened risk of domestic abuse
For an undocumented immigrant living in the U.S., there are a wide variety of services that can not be accessed, which are largely taken for granted by the larger population. As Arizona and other states have ramped up efforts to find and deport these individuals in recent years, immigrants find themselves increasingly estranged from schools, hospitals, police services and many other public and private institutions. A recent article in the Las Vegas Sun shines a spotlight on another service increasingly out of reach to this country’s undocumented population: domestic violence protection.
